Visual Communication Theory and Research

This book was conceived as an introduction to the mass communication approach to visual communication, with an emphasis on how scholars have studied news images.  It won the “Top Book” award in 2014 from the Visual Studies Division of the National Communication Association.  I was thrilled to work with heavy hitters in the field,  Shahira Fahmy and Wayne Wanta.
